AMARAVATI

AMARAVATI - GREENFIELD CAPITAL CITY

Andhra Pradesh is developing a ‘futuristic’ greenfield capital city in Amaravati, on the southern banks of River Krishna. The city is envisioned to be a milestone in India’s urbanisation story.

The Capital Region is envisaged as a 7,420 sq.km metropolitan area, covering the cities of Vijayawada and Guntur, of which 217 sq.km has been carved out for the capital city of Amaravati.

Amaravati will be integrated through an extensive network of ports, roads, airports, and inland waterways, to turn Andhra Pradesh into a well-connected economic hub.
